Jrai Dew, Art Labor’s second artist book is the result of the collaboration between Art Labor collective, Jrai folk artists, and a network of academic and artistic collaborators in the past three years. Jrai Dew book is a summary of the project in images and proses, the publication features selected works of 7 Jrai artists participated in the project, with a special, unique collection of rare photographs taken by writer and translator Nguyen Ngoc capturing life in the Central Highlands in the early 90s, published for the first time, with his own comments that share the perspective of passionate academic who commit his life researching the central highland. Jrai Dew book also premieres a comic created specifically for the project by French artist Freddy Naldony Poustochkine. Jrai Dew is probably one of the first publications printed in three languages: Jrai, Vietnamese and English, translated and edited by Rchâm Ngưur and Hrill Siu, with minimal, poetic design by Nhat Vo, focused on a symbolized drop of dew immerses into the infinity, which is also the identity of Art Labor's project.
All profits from the sale of books will be contributed to the continuation of the artist's community project in Gia Lai, Central Highland of Vietnam.
