In this urban labyrinth, all beings, humans included, are but fragile threads in the city's grand tapestry, resilient in their persistence. I hope people learn wisdom from these tiny wonders of nature. Even when massive changes sweep through their world, they always find new ways to survive. This book aims to spark respect for all the different life forms sharing our urban spaces.
About Kate Cheung
Kate Cheung is a multidisciplinary artist based in Hong Kong, working across moving images, media art, textiles, and poetry. Her works expand poetry's possibilities through textiles, media art, and video poetry. By interweaving threads, fabric, and digital images, she builds a unique visual language. She believes poetry transcends words, manifesting in images and materials—echoing humanity's primal communication—while language often sparks overthinking. Poetry exists everywhere, not just in text, but in all things. Her art reflects evolving selfhood from childhood to adulthood, reshaping chaos into tranquility and inner peace. They may appear fragmented, unstable, and vulnerable, but they are also coherent, free, and resilient—like a quiet tide. Her works have been exhibited internationally in Ireland, Italy, Taipei, Thailand, and Japan.
